Mupirocin Ointment 2% w/w is a water-removable topical treatment for bacterial skin infections in canines, including superficial pyoderma caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius.

It is derived from Pseudomonas fluorescens, Mupirocin is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis. It effectively treats both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus species, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus species, Enterobacter species, and more.

Mupirocin shows no cross-resistance with other common antibiotics, making it a versatile treatment for various bacterial infections.

  • Store between 15° and 30°C (59° and 86°F).

How to Use
  • Remove the applicator unit and puncture the tube with the white part of the cap.
  • Reattach the applicator unit.
  • To use, remove the white part of the cap.
  • After use, put the white cap back to close the tube.

  • Mupirocin Ointment is not intended for ophthalmic use. Its safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been established.
  • Use with caution on extensive deep lesions, as absorption of large amounts of polyethylene glycol, which could lead to nephrotoxicity, may occur.
  • Safety in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined. Due to a potential hazard for nephrotoxicity due to polyethylene glycol content of the product base, exercise care in use for extensive deep lesions where absorption of large quantities of polyethylene glycol is possible.
Side Effects

No adverse reactions have been reported. If skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian.

Dosage Administration

Before treatment, the lesion should be cleansed. Ointment should be applied to the affected area twice a day. Apply a sufficient amount of ointment to completely cover the infected area.

Maximum duration of treatment should not exceed 30 days.
